Radon Testing

Radon has been shown to be the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer in the US, second only to cigarette smoking. It is surprisingly common, and yet many homeowners are unaware of its existence. Radon is a colorless, odorless, radioactive gas. It forms naturally from the decay of radioactive elements, such as uranium, which are found at different levels in soil and rock throughout the world.

The map provided is a Portland area guide that breaks down, by zip code, the likely hood of a high radon reading. The only way to know for sure if your home has high radon levels is to perform a radon test. For a more detailed zip-code list click here.

Testing is done in a 48 hour period and results are immediate, with no lab work required. A separate digital report is generated for your records. Rates for East side testing are $125, West side rates are $150. We offer testing as far West as 200th Ave and as far East as Gresham (Sandy for $150), North to Portland City Limits and South to Sherwood/Wilsonville. HomeCheck does not do any radon mitigation work, and therefore has no conflict of interest when it comes to producing test results.
